Family Guidance
- Hearing well is a major part of communicating well. Our Doctors of Audiology can explain how hearing problems affect your family interactions.
- We can duplicate your hearing loss on the computer so your loved ones can experience hearing “through your ears.” Imagine how much hearing through your ears increases everyone’s understanding of your situation.
- Your clinical audiologist will also help you and your family with adjusting to your hearing aids. As the hearing aids supply appropriate sound, the neural pathways rewire and the clarity of what you hear improves over a period of weeks. When we explain to family members how this process happens, they can support you through the transition. (For the best results, the patient must wear the aids during most waking hours versus only when going out to dinner, etc.)
